WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Coast Guard has issued a proposal to adjust pilotage rates for the Great Lakes system in 2026, aiming to balance commerce needs with service costs. The plan calls for an overall 7% drop in operating expenses compared to the prior year, benefiting shippers while ensuring pilot compensation and safety standards.
