WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (TNSFR) -- Nola Land Company Inc., Haines City, Florida, has applied for an incidental take permit (ITP) from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The ITP is needed for a sand mine expansion in Polk County, Florida, which would convert almost one acre of habitat for two protected reptile species: the sand skink and the blue-tailed mole skink. The proposed project could cause harm to these federally listed populations.
