Virginia Foxx, R-North Carolina, chairwoman of the House Rules Committee, issued the following opening remarks on Sept. 4, 2025, at a hearing to consider the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026, (H.R. 4553) and a resolution (H.Res. 668), which directs the Oversight Committee to continue its work in investigating and obtaining relevant documents related to the Epstein files:
