WASHINGTON, Sept. 4 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration has updated its food additive rules, permitting the use of vitamin D3 as a nutrient supplement in yogurt and related cultured dairy items. This move is a direct consequence of a petition filed by General Mills Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota.
