WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (TNSFR) -- The Federal Maritime Commission has taken action to end specific exemptions for seven shipping entities that are no longer classified as "controlled carriers."

This decision revokes a provision that allowed these companies to implement their rates, charges, and regulations with less than 30 days' notice. The agency determined that the exemptions were no longer appropriate given the entities' updated status and issued a final notice . . .
