HUD Sets 2026 Fair Market Rents, Opens Public Comment

WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced the 2026 Fair Market Rents (FMRs), effective October 1, 2025, to guide housing assistance for low-income families under the Housing Choice Voucher program. These rents, required by the U.S. Housing Act of 1937, represent the 40th percentile gross rent for standard quality units across various regions, ensuring access to safe, affordable housing.
