WASHINGTON, Aug. 25 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration is reviewing a request from the Long Island Rail Road, Jamaica, New York, to make a temporary alteration to its positive train control (PTC) system.

The railroad submitted its request on August 11, 2025, to disable the Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System II (ACSES II). This action is needed to facilitate the installation, testing, and commissioning of modifications to transponder . . .
