WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (TNSFR) -- The Kansas State Historical Society. Topeka, is preparing to return the remains of at least 48 individuals and over 1,000 artifacts to the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. This action follows an inventory conducted in compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The items are from a dozen different sites across Kansas.
