Kansas Historical Society Completes Inventory of Native American Remains, Finds Affiliation With Pawnee & Wichita Tribes

WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (TNSFR) -- The Kansas State Historical Society, Topeka, has completed its inventory of Native American human remains and associated funerary objects, finding a cultural connection to the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma and the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes. Conducted under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the inventory identified the remains of 72 individuals and 23,270 objects.
