Kansas State Historical Society Completes Inventory of Native American Remains Tied to 3 Nations

WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (TNSFR) -- The Kansas State Historical Society, Topeka, has finished a review of Native American human remains and funerary objects, finding a connection to three Indian tribes. The work was done in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
Based on consultation and geographical history, the KSHS has linked the human remains and objects to three groups: the Kaw Nation, the Pawnee Nation and the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes.
