Newark Museum of Art Completes Inventory on Native American Remains

WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 (TNSFR) -- The Newark Museum of Art, New Jersey, has completed an inventory of a human mandible in its collection and determined that there is no cultural affiliation to any Indian tribe or Native Hawaiian organization.
The item, labeled "Indian jaw" and bearing a collection number, represents the remains of at least one individual of Native American ancestry. A museum inventory found the remains to have no associated funerary objects.
