WASHINGTON, Aug. 19 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has authorized the use of two replacement disposal panels labeled 11 and 12 at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in southeastern New Mexico for defense-related transuranic radioactive waste. This approval follows an extensive review of technical data submitted by the U.S. Department of Energy independent analyses and public feedback.
