WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 -- The Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights and Global Women's Issues released the following written testimony by international lawyer Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC from a July 22, 2025, hearing entitled "The Status of Democracy and Human Rights in Hong Kong, Five Years After the PRC's Judicial Takeover". PRC is the People's Republic of China.
