WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 -- New York Mayor Eric Adams announced that a Legionnaires' disease outbreak in Central Harlem, which has claimed three lives, is "under control." The mayor, joined by health officials, confirmed 92 cases and stated that 11 of 12 contaminated cooling towers have been remediated. He stressed that the air and water supply are safe but urged anyone with flu-like symptoms to seek immediate medical attention.
