Natural Resources Conservation Service: New Mexico Responds to Wildfire Aftermath With Restoration Plan

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service is moving forward with a plan to address the widespread damage from the HPCC wildfire, which scorched more than 341,000 acres in 2022. The fire's aftermath has caused problems with flooding, erosion, and water quality across a 500-square-mile area spanning seven counties in northern New Mexico. The restoration initiative focuses on private lands within the affected region.
