University of Florida Museum of Natural History Completes Inventory, Prepares to Repatriate Native American Remains to 3 Tribes

WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 (TNSFR) -- The University of Florida Museum of Natural History (FLMNH) has completed an inventory of Native American human remains and funerary objects, a move required by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The museum has determined that there is a cultural affiliation between these items and three specific tribal nations: the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians, Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
