WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 (TNSFR) -- The Birmingham Museum of Art (BMA) has fulfilled its inventory obligations under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), clearing the way for the repatriation of two funerary items to three Choctaw Tribes.
The museum determined there is a cultural link between two associated funerary objects and three Indian tribes: the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma . . .
