NOAA Considers Fisheries Research Application, Seeks Public Comment

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Marine Fisheries Service is inviting public comments on a request for authorization to take small numbers of marine mammals during fisheries research. The Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC) has submitted an application for regulations that would allow the incidental taking of these animals over a five-year period.
