EPA Proposes Broadened Maleic Hydrazide Exemption

WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to change a prior rule regarding the pesticide maleic hydrazide, a plant growth regulator and herbicide. In 2019, the agency suggested a tolerance exemption for maleic hydrazide on potatoes, onions, and potato chips. The agency has now put forth a modified plan to expand the exemption for residues of maleic hydrazide to include all crops, not just those named earlier.
