WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has increased the maximum civil monetary penalties for violations of three federal statutes. This measure, a rule adjustment, is intended to keep pace with inflation and maintain the fines' deterrent effect. The adjustments apply to penalties under the Rivers and Harbors Appropriation Act, the Clean Water Act and the National Fishing Enhancement Act.
