WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has changed its regulations to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. This change is a result of a Presidential directive that was issued earlier this year. The rule, which is effective as of August 7, 2025, aims to align agency regulations with the directive.
