USGS: 3D Elevation Program Aids Louisiana's Economy and Flood Management

WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSLrpt) -- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), through a document titled 'The 3D Elevation Program--Supporting Louisiana's Economy' and authored by Chris Cretini, released a report on the use of high-resolution elevation data in Louisiana. The report, designated as Fact Sheet 2025-3034, was issued in July 2025 and highlights how the state is using the data to improve public safety, manage land subsidence, and combat sea-level rise.
