WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service has declared its intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Malheur, Umatilla and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests. The agency is moving forward with a full revision of the land management plans for these forests, which have been in place since 1990. The effort aims to address evolving ecological, social and economic conditions, as well as incorporate up-to-date scientific information.
