WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSFR) -- The Autry Museum of the American West, Los Angeles, California, is preparing to return dozens of cultural objects to the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Mission Indians.
The items, which include tools, ornaments and ceremonial artifacts, were collected from various sites in California, primarily in the Channel Islands and San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. The museum is acting in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation . . .
