WASHINGTON, July 30 -- Cook Nuclear Plant, Michigan, has filed an initial report with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission regarding a defect in voltage regulators for its emergency diesel generators. The issue, identified during a surveillance test on April 22, concerns a "thermal overload" component that was found to be prone to tripping spuriously.
