WASHINGTON, July 30 -- A worker at Instrotek in Durham, North Carolina, was exposed to radioactive material after a nuclear gauge source ruptured on May 8, according to a report from the North Carolina Division of Radiation Protection. The incident, reported to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on July 22, occurred while an employee was removing an americium-241/beryllium source from a down-hole probe.
