WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (TNSFR) -- Northern States Power Company--Wisconsin has applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for permission to build a dike at the Turtle-Flambeau Reservoir. The request is part of a plan to comply with dam safety guidelines, addressing concerns about potential overtopping during extreme flood conditions. The reservoir, which is part of the Big Falls Hydroelectric Project on the Flambeau River in Rusk County, Wisconsin, does not occupy any federal land.
