FERC: Texas Eastern Seeks to Abandon Gulf Pipeline

WASHINGTON, Aug. 1 (TNSFR) -- Texas Eastern Transmission, LP has filed a request with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to abandon parts of an inactive pipeline in the Gulf of America near Louisiana. The company seeks to remove just over seven miles of its 16-inch-diameter Line 40-B-3 and abandon another four miles in place. An additional short section would also be removed.
The pipeline company says the project will allow it to avoid future costs related to the upkeep . . .
