NRC Event Notification: Curtiss-Wright Issues Interim Report on Faulty Nuclear Plant Switches

WASHINGTON, July 29 -- Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Co., Davidson, North Carolina, has filed an interim Part 21 report regarding the failure of two NAMCO limit switches supplied for use in U.S. nuclear power plants. The issue, first reported by Xcel Energy, Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 21, 2025, involves switches from project CJ21087 (tag numbers CJ2108701, serial numbers 01 and 04) that failed bench tests designed to verify proper spring-return contact operation.
