U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa to Transfer Native American Remains to Chickasaw Nation

WASHINGTON, July 29 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District proposes to transfer Native American human remains to the Chickasaw Nation acting under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

This involves the remains of one individual discovered near Lake Texoma, a reservoir in Oklahoma and Texas. The precise location within the reservoir is unknown. The Oklahoma portion of the lake is within the Chickasaw Nation reservation.
