Canyon Fuel Company Petitions Mine Safety & Health Administration for Respirator Standard Change

WASHINGTON, July 15 (TNSFR) -- Canyon Fuel Co. LLC, Helper, Utah, has submitted a petition to the U.S. Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration requesting a modification to existing mandatory safety standards. The company is seeking to use the Drager X-plore 8000 battery-powered air purifying respirators as an alternative method for respiratory protection at its Skyline Mine #3 in Carbon County.

The petition specifically addresses a modification to 30 CFR 75.500(d) . . .
