Kansas State Historical Society to Repatriate Human Remains, Funerary Objects to 3 Native Tribes

WASHINGTON, July 10 (TNSFR) -- The Kansas State Historical Society has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects, establishing cultural affiliation with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, Oklahoma, Jicarilla Apache Nation, New Mexico and the Northern Arapaho Tribe of the Wind River Reservation, Wyoming. This action, under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, prepares for the return of these ancestral items.
