N.C. Regulators Approve Duke Energy Progress Transmission Line in Buncombe County

WASHINGTON, July 9 -- The North Carolina Utilities Commission, Raleigh, has waived notice and hearing requirements (Docket No. E-2, Sub 1376) and issued a certificate of environmental compatibility and public convenience and necessity to Duke Energy Progress LLC, Raleigh, North Carolina, for the construction of approximately 395 feet of 230 kilovolt transmission line in Buncombe County. This line will connect the existing Craggy 230 kV substation to a 30.5 megawatt Craggy battery energy storage . . .
