Iowa Removes Gender Identity Protections From Civil Rights Act, ACLU Responds

WASHINGTON, July 1 -- Rita Bettis Austen, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa, stated that the state's amended Civil Rights Act has gone into effect, removing gender identity as a protected characteristic.
