WASHINGTON, June 18 (TNSFR) -- The Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, Massachusetts, intends to repatriate a cultural item. In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, the museum has determined that this item, an object of cultural patrimony, has a cultural affiliation with Native Hawaiian organizations as specified in a notice (Docket No. NPS-WASO-NAGPRA-NPS0040411). The determinations in this notice are the sole responsibility of the Peabody Essex Museum.
