Louisiana State University Museum of Natural Science Returns Ancestral Remains to Coushatta Tribe

WASHINGTON, June 13 (TNSFR) -- The Louisiana State University Museum of Natural Science in Baton Rouge has completed an inventory of human remains in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The museum has determined that a cultural connection exists between these remains and the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana. This finding means the human remains are now available for repatriation, a step that honors ancestral ties, and may occur on or after July 11, 2025.
