In 1932, Charles Lindbergh Jr., the 20-month-old son of the famous American aviator, was abducted from his home in East Amwell, New Jersey. His corpse was discovered months later. A suspect, German immigrant Bruno Richard Hauptmann, was arrested and eventually executed.
