WASHINGTON, May 30 (TNSFR) -- The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, an agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation, is proposing an amendment to regulations concerning how certain commercial motor vehicles must proceed at railroad grade crossings.

The proposed rule aims to grant an exception for drivers of particular vehicles, such as buses transporting passengers and those carrying hazardous materials, to cross tracks without stopping.
