WASHINGTON, May 30 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration is moving to eliminate a set of long-standing rules governing Federal-aid contracts for highway projects within the Appalachian region.
These regulations, which have been in place since 1974, are considered by the agency to be outdated, redundant, and no longer necessary for the efficient administration of the Appalachian Development Highway System and local access roads.
