RALEIGH, North Carolina, May 23 -- The North Carolina Utilities Commission has ordered the commencement of public notice and state agency review for a proposed 49.9 MW solar facility in Duplin County. Mt. Olive Solar LLC, filed an application on April 23, 2025, seeking a certificate of public convenience and necessity to construct the significant clean energy project, which also includes a 20 MW battery energy storage system (BESS).
