At its 257th Commencement on Sunday, May 25, Brown University conferred honorary doctorates on seven candidates who have achieved great distinction in a variety of fields. The recipients included: 

* Jon Batiste -- Award-winning musician

* Allyson Felix -- Olympic gold medalist
