WASHINGTON, May 21 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that Exxon Mobil Corporation has filed a petition to add ethylene propylene diene (EPDM) rubber to the list of taxable substances under the Superfund tax.

This action signals a potential expansion of the Superfund tax to include this synthetic rubber, commonly used in automotive parts, wire and cable insulation, and oil additives.
