Interior Department Proposes Endangered Status for Fish Lake Valley Tui Chub

WASHINGTON, May 21 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to list the Fish Lake Valley tui chub, a small fish native to Esmeralda County, Nevada, as an endangered species due to significant threats to its habitat.

Found only in the McNett spring system within Fish Lake Valley and an introduced population at Lida Pond, the tui chub faces risks from geothermal development, groundwater extraction, invasive species, and climate change. Hist . . .
