WASHINGTON, May 20 (TNSLrpt) -- A new working paper from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) provides compelling experimental evidence on the detrimental effects of disruptive behavior on student learning and development. The study, titled "Disruption in the Classroom: Experimental Evidence from Ecuador" (IDB-WP-1688), utilized a unique randomized classroom assignment design in Ecuador to quantify how poorly-behaved children affect their classmates.
