WASHINGTON, May 20 (TNSLrpt) -- A new working paper from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) explores the relationship between market power and productivity in Peru's manufacturing sector. The study, titled "Productivity and Market Power: The Case of Manufacturing Firms of Peru 2002-2019" (IDB-WP-1684), applied advanced econometric techniques, including machine learning, to investigate whether firms' market power causally affects their total factor productivity (TFP).
