WASHINGTON, May 17 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is approving Michigan's revised State Implementation Plan (SIP) to address sulfur dioxide (SO2) pollution in the Detroit non-attainment area.
The EPA's action follows previous findings that Michigan had not fully met Clean Air Act requirements for the area. This approval pertains to the 2010 sulfur dioxide primary national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS).
