WASHINGTON, May 10 (TNSFR) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has withdrawn a large volume of previously issued guidance materials, including policy statements, interpretive rules, and advisory opinions, effective May 12, 2025. The agency announced the withdrawal through a final rule published in the Federal Register (90 FR 20084), citing a renewed emphasis on ensuring that regulatory obligations are created through formal rulemaking procedures rather than non-binding guidance.
