University of Florida Completes Repatriation Inventory for Human Remains and Funerary Objects to Seminole Tribe of Florida

WASHINGTON, May 8 (TNSFR) -- The University of Florida, Florida Museum of Natural History, Gainesville, has finalized an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects, confirming a cultural affiliation with the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

The remains, representing at least 429 individuals, were excavated from the Palmer Burial Mound/Historic Spanish Point (8SO2/8SO2a) in Sarasota County, Florida, with the fieldwork conducted in 1959, 1960, and 1962 by Ripley P. and Adel . . .
