N.C. Utilities Commission: Panther Branch Solar in Duplin County to Expand With More Panels and Battery Storage

RALEIGH, North Carolina, May 8 -- Panther Branch Solar, LLC, has filed an update with the North Carolina Utilities Commission detailing an expansion of its already approved 80 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility in Duplin County. According to a filing on April 11, 2025, the project will now incorporate additional solar panels and a potential 32 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) within the previously approved site.
