WASHINGTON, May 6 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has published a notice detailing the interest rates to be applied to overdue debts under its claims collection regulations. According to Section 30.18 of HHS's claims collection regulations (45 CFR part 30), the Secretary of the Treasury sets the annual rate of interest after evaluating private consumer rates on the date the department becomes entitled to recovery.
